The Deepak Group evolved in 1970 when the Chairman Mr. C. K. Mehta set up DNL, combining his skills in trading and manufacturing. The group has, since not looked back and grown surpassing all expectations. It has also bagged prestigious awards like the Sir P.C. Ray award, for being the best Chemical Industrial unit in India.

In 1983, Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL) started the commercial production of ammonia - in technical collaboration with Fisch International Engineers (USA) using natural gas as feedstock. This marked the fulfilment of a need for lateral integration into the world of basic building block chemicals, premium fertilisers and petrochemicals.

The company continues to work towards manufacturing value-added chemicals, agro inputs and related services for its customers.
